Dr. Zhang is a distinguished leader in the field of biomedical engineering, holding a B.Eng. degree in Control Engineering, an M.Eng. degree in Biomedical Instrumentation, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Zhang has made significant contributions across academia, government research, and the medical device industry.
He is the proud holder of more than 18 patents in medical device technology, including innovations in LED-based fluorescence microscopy, LED-based wound imaging, fiber optic-based qPCR detection systems, and AI- and optical spectrum-based early breast cancer detection.
Dr. Zhang’s illustrious career includes positions as a full professor at a prestigious university, a senior scientist at a government research center, and a senior research engineer at leading medical device companies. His expertise and groundbreaking work continue to drive advancements in biomedical engineering, making a profound impact on healthcare and medical technology.
